Low Temperature Chilling Units

Thermal Fluid Systems Ltd. are able to supply skid-mounted, low temperature Chiller packages to achieve fluid temperatures of -80°C or lower for operation with a standard Thermal Control Unit.

These packages use liquid nitrogen as the chilling medium in a specially designed spiral heat exchanger to provide fluid at the lowest temperatures needed by some pharmaceutical processes. A single package can supply several vessels via suitably designed TCUs. The Chiller package controls can be integrated with the overall process control via microprocessor or DCS

Operating Advantages

The Thermal Fluid Systems Ltd. Nitrogen Cooled Chillers have several advantages over mechanical refrigeration for low temperature operation.

  • Compact Construction on Single Skid
  • Low Capital Cost
  • Suitable for Operation in Hazardous Areas
  • Simple Design for Low Maintenance
  • No Moving Parts
  • Local or Remote Operation
  • Accurate Temperature Control
  • Low Noise/Environmentally Friendly

System Design Service

Working closely with clients, Thermal Fluid Systems Ltd. can advise on the selection of a heat transfer fluid and estimate heating/cooling/chilling performances for the process vessels.

Recommendations will then be made on the basis of selection for the components of the heat/cool installation to achieve the calculated duties.

Process guarantees will be provided based on standard solvents or on actual products.

A total system can be designed for a multi-vessel installation in line with client operating requirements.
